5/8/2023 0 Comments Rent the runway men![]() Once for a month where I had 3 weddings (this was their old model where you could return and rent as many items as you wanted over the month). I’ve done the 4 item per month plan 2 times. I subsequently read reviews online that said their customer service has really declined since the pandemic and I believe it. I proactively reached out multiple times and still never received a dress. It was honestly a terrible customer service experience. I called them and they said, "Sorry! We can refund the dress (when it arrives back at our warehouse) and give you 15% off your next purchase." Come 10am on Saturday morning I see that the dress has in fact been delivered to this old address. I called them and they assured me the dress was going to the hotel. On Friday night I checked the tracking information and saw that the dress was going to an old address that I haven't lived at in years. There weren't a lot of options, so I ended up with a dress that I didn't really want. They were like, "Yeah I'm sure it'll be fine." Well it didn't arrive so I called them on Friday and they said they'd overnight a backup dress to the hotel I was staying at for the wedding. I called them on Thursday morning when the tracking information stopped updating online and told them I was concerned the dress wouldn't arrive in time (my flight was Friday morning). ![]() The dress was supposed to arrive on Thursday. I recently had a bad experience with RTR. Overall, I love it and have used it for my engagement photos, engagement party, wedding guest dresses, work events, and just to shake up my wardrobe. Also, there's obviously a risk in not trying things on ahead of time, but I will say that a lot of people leave detailed reviews and photos which helps you gauge what size you need. You could rent the dress a month early to be safe and then hang on to it, but of course that wastes one of your slots of clothing. In that case, 8 items might make more sense.Ī couple things to keep in mind: You can't guarantee a certain item of clothing will still be available when you're ready to rent - so if you have something specific in mind for your rehearsal dinner and don't have any other backups, that could be an issue. I would just decide how many events you have per month, and whether you're going to want to rent a backup option for some of the more important events. I have the 4-item plan, and I didn't realize until now that it affects my choices of clothing. I am obsessed with Rent the Runway, and my toxic trait is sorting by highest price so I'm out here wearing a $700 coat to a casual dinner.
